I’m Roswell Ecker and I have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID); more about me on our Meet the System page.
In our experience, it’s incredibly difficult to find resources about DID that are (1) up to date (2) accurate and (3) include the perspective(s) of those of us who actually live with DID. There’s a great deal of ableism and skepticism regarding DID, even and especially within the field of psychology; a substantial number of professionals in the field deny its existence outright, or shy away from taking on clients who already have that particular diagnosis.
So, we thought we’d compile some resources on our own, for the use of therapists / professors / folks with DID / anyone else who wants to learn some more.
Here’s a TEDx talk we did in December 2017; this covers a lot of the basics and will be helpful as you continue browsing our site.
We suggest checking out each page in the order they’re listed on the menu up top! Once you’ve covered the basics, take a look at our Blog page for more in-depth information.
